SILK hosts BGI Chairman meeting

We were delighted to organise and host earlier today a meeting with the founding Chairman of BGI, Wang Jian. The meeting was also attended by Lord David Willets, former Minister of State for Universities and Science, and the CEO of a British healthcare technology startup that SILK Ventures invited.

BGI Group is a genome-sequencing company founded in 1999 and headquartered in Shenzhen. As China’s first “citizen-managed research institution”, the company has evolved from a research organisation that decoded the DNA of pandas and rice plants into a global genomics leader active in animal cloning, health testing and contract research, advancing omics and related technologies.

We are excited to build stronger links with China’s leading organisation in the field and support our technology startups’ China market entry and R&D partnerships.
