SILK Ventures Sponsor VIP Opening Night Dinner
The annual CBBC China Outbound Conference has become a flagship event in the UK-China investment community. Last year’s conference in Shanghai attracted over 450 delegates, of which around 200 were Chinese investors from state-owned enterprises and listed companies.
This year, the conference was in Shenzhen, SILK’s China headquarters, and attracted over 700 delegates. With over 400 listed companies, Shenzhen has one of the most vibrant economies in China.
This phenomenal annual coming together of the Sino-British business community has a focus on results to which SILK could not be more suited.
The opening night VIP Dinner was hosted by Lord Sassoon, Chairman of the China-Britain Business Council and CCPIT under the sponsorship of SILK Ventures.
SILK, a pioneering investment firm based in London and China invited honoured guests from Shenzhen High-Tech Investment funds, Ping'An Technology, as well as the British tech scale-up community.
Founding Partner Angelica Anton gave a speech after Lord Sassoon’s welcoming remarks to reinforce SILK’s message of strategic cooperation and focus on deep innovation for what has become known as Industry 4.0.
Angelica later sat on the Financial Services Industries Panel hosted by Sir Tom Troubridge, Chairman of the PwC China Business Group. She was joined by Secretary General Wang Shouren of the Shenzhen Venture Capital Association; Jeff Parker, Managing Director, World First Asia Limited; Rupert Gather, CEO, InvestUK; Qiu Weidong, Deputy President, China CITIC Bank Shenzhen and others.
